Pierce played for Marty Paulsen at Fond Du Lac High School … a threetime all-state selection … a threetime first-team all-conference and all-district choice. Senior (2006):
Pierce hit .362 with three doubles, a home run and 11 RBI … drew 12 walks and struck out just twice … posted a 7-3 record on the mound with a 1.89 ERA, two saves and 58
strikeouts in 44.1 innings … named to the Fox Valley Athletics all-conference first team … selected as the No. 5 pro prospect in the state of Wisconsin by Baseball America … second-team selection to the Wisconsin Coaches Association all-state team and the District 4 Player of the Year. Junior (2005): He hit .322 with six doubles a home run and 15 RBI … went 7-2 with a 1.03 ERA in 61.1 innings as a junior … also threw seven
