2007 Outlook

Evan Cox is a hard-nosed baseball player who will settle into a spot in the Hogs’ bullpen … a right-hander with a deceptive delivery, an excellent fastball between 88-92 mph with good run and a sharp curve ball … also features a slider, changeup and split-finger fastball … was a two-way player in high school, but will concentrate on pitching with the Razorbacks … could see time on the mound in long relief as a freshman.
North Little Rock High School

Cox was named to the 2005 and 2006 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All- Arkansas team … played for Randy Sandefur at North Little Rock High School … played for the West Team in the 2006 High School All-American Baseball Game … a three-time allconference selection. Senior (2006): Cox posted a 6-1 record with a 2.01 ERA
and 65 strikeouts … was an all-state and all-conference selection. Junior (2005): He earned allstate and all-conference honors, helping North Little Rock to the first round of the state tournament. Sophomore (2004): Cox was named the MVP of the 2004 5A State Tournament as North Little Rock won the state championship. |
