Jones played his freshman season at Sam Houston State where an injured wrist late in the year derailed his 2005 season … transferred to Navarro for the 2006 season
to play for head coach Skip Johnson, who is now the pitching coach at the University of Texas. Sophomore (2006): Jones produced a dynamic sophomore season at Navarro, hitting .363 from his leadoff spot … scored an impressive 62 runs in 204 at bats while collecting 74 total hits with 13 doubles, six triples a home run and 32 RBI … used his
speed to swipe 20 bases in 51 games Freshman (2005): Jones spent his freshman season at Sam Houston State … batted .232 with one home run and eight RBI.

Jones played for head coach Barry Smith at Klein High School … helped the Bearkats to district runner-up finishes in 2003 and 2004 and was a two-team all-district honoree.
Senior (2004): Jones posted a .387 batting average with 36 hits and 22 stolen bases …
named first-team all-district. Junior (2003): Jones earned second-team all-district honors for the Bearkats.
